UK to get only 100 units of Frozen Silver Edition BMW M3 Coupe

BMW-m3-coupe-frozen-silver-editionConsumers in the US has the Competition Edition of the BMW M3 Coupe and the same vehicle will be launched in Britain as the Frozen Silver Edition. Without looking at the difference of names, this special edition BMW was created in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the BMW M GmbH.

According to BMW, the Frozen Silver Edition M3 Coupe gets an equipment upgrade of as much as 9,000 quids from the standard M3. Only 100 of its kind will be made for BMW lovers in the United Kingdom and the first cars will be hitting the showrooms by the first of June.

The special edition M3 coupe will still be using the standard model’s 414 horsepower V8 powerplant mated to a 7 speed M DCT gearbox and a variable BMW M differential. It also comes with a 3-stage dampening control system, lower suspension, an improved DSC+ system, and a set of 19-inch alloy rims in matt black

The front of the special edition M3 Coupe features the metallic pain Frozen Silver from which the name is derived, exhaust in dark chrome, kidney surrounds and side gills, bonnet intake in Jet Black, and an exterior trim with High gloss shadowline.

For the interior, the seats get a Black Novillo leather treatment highlighted with contrast stitching. The armrests and the inserts make use of Palladium leather while the steering wheel is hugged by Alcantara. The styling is completed with the trim made in carbon fiber plus the plaque showing the number of the limited edition BMW.

BMW unofficially unveils M-Sport Package for 7-Series

BMW was planning to develop a flagship car to take over the reigns from theBMW M Sport 7-Series 7-series but sidelined the plan when the recession struck. With weaker performance in the market, BMW opted to focus on its current 7-series. The plans include the release of the M-Sport package this week.

The new flagship car was supposed to carry the 8-Series badge and will be derived from the platform of the CS concept made public in 2007. Though the super sedan 8-series is far from being assembled, its legacy will be seen as an upgraded version of the 7-series.

BMW will have the M-Sport package as their best offering until the high performance series goes beyond the drawing board. The M-Sport gives the 7-series a sportier look and enhanced interiors. The driving experience is improved with a set of M steering wheel, M shifter, and M footrest.
